History of Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat

Kaduwela Divisional Secretariat was a part of the Homagama Division in the past. In the year 1978, the Kaduwela Assistant Government Agent Office was set up in the Kaduwela city and later it was shifted to the Koswatta area. In the 1984, the office was located in the Malabe village where it is functioning today.
New buildings had been setup in the Malabe premises in the years of 1984, 1992 and 2008 respectively. At present this office has become a one of the largest populated Divisional Secretariat Divisions in Sri Lanka.
